Of course I can’t post any photos of my four candidate gowns (it should be a surprise, after all!), but this is a Junko Yoshioka gown that I tried on today. (It was beautiful and so intricate, and it looked better on me than I originally anticipated, but it’s really meant for someone without curves.) I chose four favorites from three designers: Melissa Sweet, Cymbeline and Renella DeFina. Despite the somewhat exhausting process of trying on wedding dresses, my consultant at Gabrielle’s made the afternoon thoroughly enjoyable. To stay on time for March 2009, I need to make a dress decision before July.

I’ve made my first bridal attire appointment at the beautiful Gabrielle’s Boutique in downtown Los Gatos. Of course, this means that I have to get my act together this week and get going on my digital inspiration board so that I have examples to show them on Saturday.

Neither the Jessica McClintock website photo nor the one I took in the store do this dress a bit of justice, but Jeanette is actually quite lovely.
I’m not so in love with the halter style in bridal wear, nor can I get on board with the lace on the halter itself. Okay, let’s just scrap everything above the waist, and take out the waist bow while you’re at it. But from the waist down — lovely! Love, love, love the ruched rose satin around the waist, and the pintucks are delightfully understated.
